Dominican Republic Call Center Association Steps up to Aid Hurricane Victims in the United States

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, Sept. 6 -- The Dominican Republic Call Center Association has launched an emergency relief effort by opening a Toll Free number to meet unprecedented needs in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
The largest displacement of Americans since the Civil War reverberated across the country from its starting point in New Orleans, as more than half a million people uprooted by Hurricane Katrina sought shelter, sustenance and the semblance of new lives.
DRCCA has called upon one of the countries largest Call Centers, Americas Best Call Center Solutions, Inc. and other smaller call centers to assist in taking calls with live operators (in 3 languages) from emergency victims, friends and family. These operators will have the ability to look up information via the Internet, send brief emails, or even make phone calls on their behalf.
Initial hours of operation will be 8am to Midnight Monday to Thursday, Friday 8am to 4pm, and Saturday 10am to 6pm. The number is

"We are pleased to help out in any way we can. So many people are struggling to contact their family members. If we can help even just one person, it will all be worth it", said Junior Rojas, Operations Manager at Americas Best.
